Leaf Advised Trasis SA on the Creation of “Trasis Beijing”, a New Joint Venture with Beijing PET Technology to Support Nuclear Medicine in China

Leaf has advised Trasis SA, a global leader in nuclear medicine equipment and solutions, on the creation of “Trasis Beijing”, a new joint venture with Beijing PET Technology Co., Ltd., one of China’s most established players in the nuclear medicine ecosystem. The transaction further structures and strengthens more than a decade of close collaboration between the two companies.

The new joint venture will be majority-owned by Trasis and will combine Trasis’ radiopharmaceutical technologies with Beijing PET Technology’s nationwide distribution network and deep local market presence. Its ambition is to support the rapid growth of nuclear medicine in China by improving access to reliable, high-performance solutions for hospitals, radio pharmacies, research institutions and industry partners.

Public authorities in China have identified nuclear medicine as a strategic sector, notably through initiatives such as the Mid- and Long-Term Development Plan for Medical Isotopes and Healthy China 2030, which aim to expand access to advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. “We are pleased to support Trasis in building a long-term, well-structured partnership that will strengthen their position in China’s fast-growing nuclear medicine sector” said Jean-Philippe Engel.

Leaf advised Trasis on all strategic aspects of the transaction, from JV structuring and due diligence to negotiation until signing of the final contractual documentation.

Jean-Philippe Engel, managing partner of the Shanghai office, led the Leaf Transaction Team with support from associate Lin Mengqi.
