Leaf assists Tomorrow and MediaMonks combining creative and production forces in China

Build capacity and add attractiveness

LEAF has advised Tomorrow, a creative agency in merging with MediaMonks to strengthen their creative and content capabilities, and add talents and clients in the key market of China. Tomorrow has become one of China’s most exciting and awarded digital creative agencies. With a focus on creating integrated brand and social campaigns Tomorrow employs around 50 people in Shanghai and counts Burberry, Budweiser, Beyond Meat, Coca Cola, Starbucks, Crocs and Red Bull as clients. MediaMonks is the content practice of S4Capital plc (SFOR.L), the tech-led, new age/new era digital advertising and marketing services company. Tomorrow is an award-winning Shanghai-based creative agency. The merger will pair Tomorrow’s stellar creative track-record in China with MediaMonks’ global footprint and world-class creative production capabilities in China, the world’s second largest advertising market. Post-merger, S4Capital will now have around 500 people in Asia-Pacific across its Content and Data & Digital Media practices out of a total of approximately 4000. Jean-Philippe Engel led the Leaf Transaction Team with support from Chloe Voratanouvong. The Leaf Transaction Team led complex negotiations on the structuring between the sellers as well as on the M&A operation itself.

“This transaction, which follows the recent acquisitions made in China by players like Artefact and Altavia, shows the continuous appetite of MNCs for independent players in the digital communication industry in China.”

Jean-Philippe Engel, Partner at Leaf.

“We are incredibly proud of what we have built at Tomorrow and couldn’t be more excited about this next stage as we partner with MediaMonks and S4Capital to be a disruptive creative force in China.”

Rogier Bikker, CEO and Founder of Tomorrow.
